Dundee at Forefront of Growth in Scottish Games Industry

The Tag Team were happy today to hear more good news about the games industry in Scotland. Reports by The Courier and Develop Online confirm that since 2010, there has been a 600% surge in the number of game development companies in the country since 2010, with over 100 studios now operating across the land. As home to over 30 of these firms, Dundee is at the forefront of this expansion and local MSP Joe FitzPatrick described games as "a massive success story for Scotland."

Tag's Managing Director Paul Farley has been working in the industry in Scotland for over 20 years and was understandably delighted to hear the good news. " Since we formed Tag in 2006 so much has changed in the way we make and sell games. These challenges have been considerable so it's great to see studios in Scotland growing at such a strong rate. This is especially true in our home city of Dundee, which continues to be an internationally-recognised games hub and home to over over a third of Scotland's developers. The message is clear. There is no better place in the UK to start a games business, or invest in one than Dundee!"

At Tag we're looking forward to even greater growth in the years to come and taking Scottish games to the next level!
