Great Scot! A look at Gaming's Scottish Stars

We've been filling up on shortbread at Tag Towers today as, like the rest of Scotland, we celebrate St. Andrews Day 2016.

Us Scots have a fantastic and ever-growing game development scene especially in our hometown of Dundee, but we couldn't help but think that Scottish characters are a little under-represented in games themselves. That in mind, we trawled the depths to find three of the best (maybe worst in some cases) so you don't have to.

Making Our Scottish Business Pledge

At Tag Games we are always looking to invest in our people and our business practices so we were delighted to make our Scottish Business Pledge earlier this month.

The Scottish Business Pledge is a government-led initiative that aims to make Scotland a wealthier and more forward-looking nation. It does this by setting guidelines to boost productivity, competitiveness, sustainability and workforce engagement in businesses all over Scotland.

Tag Games at Game Connection Europe

This week over 2000 games industry professionals have headed to Paris, as the French capital hosts Game Connection Europe 2016. The show is a major event in the European games calendar and a place where numerous deals are struck and partnerships formed. Speakers at this year's event include senior members of staff from mobile and console developers such as SCEE, Rovio, Sega and Kabam.

The Tag Take 0n...Nintendo Switch

After much speculation regarding the mysterious "NX", Nintendo finally revealed their upcoming console in a three-minute teaser video last week. Officially called Nintendo Switch, the latest hardware venture by the Kyoto company is set to be a console / handheld / tablet hybrid with detachable controllers. After the Wii U struggled to find a place in the market the success (or failure) of this  new console could prove a defining point in Nintendo's history.
